Happy Birthday, America!

As a US History teacher, I could bore you to death with wonderful, historic, and patriotic things to post today. But since flags, fireworks, and fun food are on the brain, I’ll refrain.

Instead, I ask that you watch this short video. I pray you’ll be moved, encouraged, nostalgic, and full of pride and gratefulness for just exactly what it means to live in The United States of America.

Happy 4th!

I remember seeing that video clip years ago. I’m a patriot at heart – was actually “accused” of being patriotic in high school *gasp* when I complained that a U.S. Government teacher was going about teaching his class in a horrible fashion. I’ll never forget the teachers first words on the first day of class: “Our government sucks.” I dropped his class immediately. Anyway, I digress…

We’re blessed to live in the Land of 10,000 lakes and we spent the 3rd & 4th with my in-law’s at their lake home. We’ll spend tonight and tomorrow at a different lake with my side of the family at my brother’s lake home. Lots of food, swimming, fireworks and mosquito spray. I hope you have a fun weekend in store!
